I'm not going to tell you who to vote for.
But I am going to tell you what to look for:
Competence & character.
Politics aside, wouldn't it be nice to see these two attributes in the next US president?
The upcoming US election is a reminder that character and competence are paramount in leadership.
What is competence, you might ask? Competence is therefore:
- The ability to do what one says they will do.
- The ability to solve complex problems.
- The ability to work with people who have diverse viewpoints and still get the job done.
And what about Character? This is likened to having:
- A steady hand in a crisis.
- A leader who has the country's best interests at heart.
- Someone who acts with integrity and doesn't spread hate and division.
If the past few years have taught the US anything, it is that character matters.
But it is not just about the candidates.
It is about us, too.
It is about what we value and what we vote for.
It is about looking past party lines and asking ourselves:
| Who has the character to lead this nation?
| Who has the competence to address our biggest challenges?
Americans can't afford to be indifferent or complacent.
They need to vote with intention and thoughtfulness.
The future of this great nation depends on the character and competence of those who lead it.
As you weigh your options and make up your mind on who to vote for, don't forget to look for competence and character. What we need is to see humanity and competence restored at the center of power.
So, I hope that you do your part and vote for the best possible future.
